Game Repair

If there is one sad reality in this hobby, it must be that almost every game eventually develops a problem. It's not all that surprising when you consider many of these machines are 20-30 years old! Components fail, systems break down. It happens. So what to do? If you are a do-it-yourself type person, feel free to ask for help in our Technical Help Forum. Otherwise you can contact one of the techs listed below.
Most work on both Pinball Machines and Video Arcade Games, but some specialize in one or the other (as noted).

Comments: Jim is a great guy and well recommended! He does great work for very reasonable prices.
My name is Jim Nyers and I have been repairing pinballs for over 15 years, both as a part time collector and full time repairs. I was Manager of Apollo Amusements in Brandon for over 8 years and I continue to do repairs for them and The Game Gallery, as well as a few other local operators and many home collectors. I repair both pins and arcade videos, doing component level board repairs to full shop outs. I also repair electro-mechanicals.
I now work out of my home full time, doing almost exclusively in shop repairs. I sometimes do in home repairs when the work load allows and when the customer is close.

Comments: Hello, my name is Curly, I own and operate Little Shop of Games in cental Florida. I have been in the business for 13 years repairing, shopping, and restoring pinball machines. I am also a distributor for Williams/Bally parts. I carry a large selection of decals, cabinet art, new boards, etc. I also carry a good selection of pinball machines for sale. I do this from my home full time with a 700sf storage area, 800sf shop, and 700sf showroom. I am set-up to do full shop-outs, as well as total restorations. Bring your pinball into the shop, and we will sit down and go over it, and figure out what you want to do with the pinball, and cost.

Comments: "I am a game technician with experience on all type of coin machines since 1988. I have worked for Southern Music, Jax Phonograph, Atlas music and games, Select Distributing, Anchor amusements, Gator coin. I do home service in the Jacksonville area. I work on most anything that takes a coin. Vids, pins electronic and EM, laser games, water operated, air operated, pool table recovering, you name it."
"My rates are $100 for a service call. $80 if you pay cash. This gives one hour of service. $20 an hour after the first hour. If I find a game to be unrepairable (ie a corroded, left at the Beach EM), the cost is $40 for an estimate. If I can't fix it, no charge. I travel as far south as Palataka and north to Fernandina.

Comments: "I have been doing service calls from Margate to the Keys (south florida area) since I co-hosted a Broward pinball show in 2004. I do maybe one service call a month, nothing big - just something I do on the side. I would like to do more however, it's great to meet other collectors. I fabricate reproduction and aftermarket parts as well."
